What is RSS?

RSS, sometimes known as Really Simple Syndication, is a popular means of sharing content (such as news and events) without requiring readers to constantly visit a Web site to see what's new. RSS feeds contain headlines and hyperlinks to longer articles or Web pages. The Elizabethtown Emmaus Community RSS feeds are free of charge.

How can I receive RSS feeds?

Desktop software applications known as news readers or aggregators can collect, update and display RSS feeds from a wide variety of sources. A number of news readers are available for you to download, many at no cost. Other versions are Web and browser-based. News readers vary slightly in how they look and act, so you may find yourself testing several before settling on one.

What RSS feeds are available from etownemmaus.org?

The Elizabethtown Emmaus Community offers one RSS feed that is updated as Community News and Events occur. To subscribe to RSS feed from etownemmaus.org, simply select the way you want to view the feed; currently XML, Google, or Yahoo; at the bottom of this page. Click on icon, and follow your news reader's instructions for subscribing to (or adding) feeds.

Using RSS feeds in Internet Exporer 7.0.

Click on the XML icon at the bottom of the page and click the 'Subscribe to this feed' link near the top of the page. You can manage all RSS Feeds within Internet Explorer much like Favorites.

Using the RSS Feed Gadget in Windows Vista.

If you have subscribed to an RSS Feed using IE7 you can view it using the RSS Feed Gadget on the Vista Sidebar. You can have all of your feeds in one Gadget multiple RSS Feed Gadgets on the Sidebar at one time.
